TICKETS to take part in river fishing’s Blue Riband event for 2022 have been snapped up in record time.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of RiverFest, the contest that pitches Britain’s best running water anglers against each other on venues across the land, each hoping to qualify for a spot in the prestigious final.
At the time of writing, of the 1,560 that went on sale, just a handful remained. The competition’s creator, Dave Harrell, is delighted by its enduring success.
“The speed of ticket sales is testament to how the event has developed,” he said. “We’ve got the perfect final venue, on the Trent at Burton Joyce, and lots of people want to be there come September.
“We’ll have a £50,000 prize pot, of which £14,000 will go to the winner, the rest being split between the top 15, plus
section winners, giving everyone something to fish for.”
