Wiltshire angler Vince Cater landed the fish of a lifetime on a recent session, in the form of this 1lb 3oz dace from the Bristol Avon. The fish is not only a new PB, but also river record. Vince was fishing with his son Harry, trotting red maggots.
He told us:
“I had a run of sensational dace up to 15oz before hooking what I thought was a trout on my last trot through.
"It was an absolute leviathan of a dace. I knew it had passed the 1lb mark, but I wasn’t prepared for it to go 1lb 3oz.
"In this shot, it’s braced with a 14oz fish, which gives you an idea of its true scale!”
