Bobby Cranfield had a real surprise during a quick session to a local lake, when both his baits were simultaneously snapped up by a brace of cracking perch.
“I was fishing livebaits beneath a float, with one bait positioned by some lilies and the other cast beneath an overhanging tree.
“I had just sat down to have a drink when the float by the lilies shot under, and after a good fight I netted a fish, the size of which surprised me! As I unhooked it I saw the other float sailing away, and yet again I struck into a good fish.
“Once in the net, it looked even bigger than the first one, and it was! At 4lb, it dwarfed the already huge 3lb fish I had just caught, making for a memorable brace.”
