PREDATOR ace Neville Fickling’s capped a blistering end to the season by banking this 19lb 2oz zander just a week after landing another heavyweight scaling 18lb 14oz.
Fishing from the bank of his local river, Lincs-based Nev cast out a 4oz roach on a float paternoster set-up, and the bait was taken almost straight away by the big predator!
Such was the speed of the take that he hadn’t even had a chance to bring his landing net down to the water’s edge. But when a big, spiky dorsal fin surfaced, Neville’s expertise shone through as he ‘chinned’ the fish out before carrying his new PB to the unhooking mat.
