THE Get Fishing Fund for 2022 has been announced, where fishing organisations can apply for their share of £100,000.

Angling clubs, fisheries, coaches, schools, local authorities and charities can apply for grants up to £2,500 from the Environment Agency and Angling Trust project.

Its aim is to create more opportunities for people to get into fishing, and Exeter and District Angling Association was one of the many organisations to benefit last year. Roy Palmer, the club’s licensed Level 2 angling coach, said:

“The funding was imperative in allowing the club to purchase equipment. We are running over 30 Get Fishing Award events this year and are really excited about getting started”

The fund launches on January 17 and closes on March 18. Applicants will be judged weekly and are urged to get their forms in early. To apply, visit: anglingtrust.net/get-fishing-fund
