WHILE on holiday at Tattershall Lakes in Lincolnshire, York-based Mark Horner was experiencing some slow carp fishing, so he decided to have a few casts with a spinner. Little did he know he’d end up catching this immense 31lb pike!

Taken from the complex’s main lake, the pike beats Mark’s personal best by 6lb, and is what he describes as ‘the fish of a lifetime’.

“I had a wander round the lake and hooked this monster under an overhanging tree,” he told us.

“I was so glad when I finally netted it, because it tail-walked multiple times, trying to spit out the spinner and head for the snags! The fish made my holiday and is a new record for the lake.”
