WHEN it’s blowing a gale there are few more daunting places to be than bobbing about in a boat on a massive reservoir – but the horrendous conditions didn’t deter Ryan Dolby, who managed this 4lb 8oz personal-best stripey from a Midlands water.

Braving what he described as ‘ridiculously windy conditions’, Lincolnshire angler Ryan snared the fish on a Texas-rigged creature bait lure on the final day of the reservoir’s winter predator fishing season.

The bite came in the last hour of the session, and his latest catch is his third of the species over 4lb in the last two months.
