Andy Cowley got a "monkey off his back" during a recent session on the Hamshire Avon, when he caught this stunning 7lb 7oz chub.
He told Angling Times:
“I threw a few pellets into my swim on the Hampshire Avon, and the rod-tip suddenly slammed over.
"On hooking the fish I saw its deep body and humped back and thought it was a bream.
"However, after a short but spirited fight I was left gobsmacked when the scales revealed a new PB of 7lb 7oz.
"I’d caught a 7lb 5oz chub from the Bristol Avon back in 2013, but it was foul-hooked just outside the mouth. This latest chub gets that monkey off my back!”
