PAUL Scowen only had one bite on his session at a low-stock gravel pit he’s been fishing for the past three winters, but wasn’t complaining when it turned out to be from this sublime roach weighing just an ounce under 4lb.
He used a feeder filled with dark groundbait and maggots, and said the fish put up a great fight before he was finally able to net it at the fourth time of asking.
