REIGNING Drennan Cup champion Simon Daley has continued his fine run of form, this time landing a superb 17lb 6oz barbel from the Hampshire Avon.

Although the iconic venue has been producing a string of big fish lately, Simon endured five lean weeks before his visit to a new stretch led to a change in fortunes.

Despite perfect conditions, Simon had just a few rattles, but just as he was packing away, the rod wrapped round as a big fish picked up his homemade boilie, leaving Simon delighted with a new PB.
