Andy and Jamie smash ‘Subscription Platform of the Year’ vote in the National Angling Awards

The brilliant on-screen duo of Andy May and Jamie Hughes worked their socks off throughout 2023 to boost the appeal of their Winning Ways channel – and it has been rewarded with a huge show of support from their followers in the Subscription Platform of the Year category.

It was a new category in this year's National Angling Awards.

Widely considered to be two of the best commercial anglers in the land, they’ve filmed hundreds of hours of in-depth content, with live matches and entertaining tutorials just part of the impressive package.

This all runs alongside a huge catalogue of free content that lives on their two YouTube channels, which over 50,000 people regularly tune into.

Their superior knowledge of everything from catching silverfish in winter right through to bagging big carp down the margins is just one element of what makes the brand so successful, but the on-screen chemistry and constant humour is clearly just as important to their audience.

Anglers love Winning Ways!

Winning Ways CEO Richard Chapman is the man who captures the brilliance of the pair from behind the cameras, and he told Angling Times: “We’ve really tried to go to the next level with the members’ content this year, with regards to both quality and quantity.

“We’ve had the chance to get even more top anglers involved, with the likes of Will Raison, Andy Bennett and Des Shipp, to name just three, appearing alongside Andy and Jamie.

The Campaign was one of the stand-out things that we launched this year, and that involved following Jamie’s entire Fish Midlands campaign, including every qualifier and the final itself. It was a real rollercoaster of emotions, and we are currently part way through Andy’s winter campaign,” he added.

“Everyone seemed to enjoy the ups and downs, rather than just showing the matches where everything goes to plan.

“We’ve got plenty of exciting things in the pipeline to make sure that we keep working up through the gears in 2024.”
