It is that time again where we ask you to vote for your Lure Angler of the Year in our inaugural National Angling Awards.

Voting closes at midnight Monday 1st December 2025 and you can place your vote using the link at the bottom of the page!

Richard Archer

Richard has had another incredible year, winning practically everything he has entered and is currently away on international duty with England for the FIPSed Kayak Fishing World Championships. His 2025 season highlights include 10 podium finishes, one major title and one international team record, with wins in Flecks n’ Kayaks at Bewl Water, the Bewl Water Kayak Competition, Derwent Kayak Competition, Llangorse Autumn Edition 2025, while also becoming ElitePro League Champion 2025.

Thom Hunt

Winner of the first-ever Lure Battle after beating fellow finalists, Ash Costa and Robbie Northman, at Linear Fisheries. A lure fishing fanatic, Thom has caught some superb fish this year on lures, while also writing articles for Angling Times to help pass on his knowledge, a great ambassador to the sport.

David Jacobs

Finishing runner-up in the 2025 Elite Pro League and winning the Predator Quest Series, David has proven himself to be one of the most formidable competition lure anglers on the circuit. He consistently finds himself on the podium, no matter which tournament he enters. His outstanding form has also earned him a place in the England squad for this year’s Kayak Fishing World Championships.

Karol Karol

Champion of the ProFishingUK Perch League 2025 (the largest perch competition ever held in the UK) with a total length of 454cm.

Jude Evans

Despite being our youngest entrant to the Lure Angler of the Year, 15-year-old Jude Evans has already proved he is a force to be reckoned with, becoming (we believe) the youngest-ever lure angler to represent England, being picked for the World Kayak Championships in Mexico.

Steve Wilson

Winner of the 2025 Pitsford Kayak Grand Slam, one of the most coveted competitors in the lure fishing calendar, and due to the talent on show, one of the most difficult to win.
