RETIRED civil servant David Elliott banked a trio of chub from the Thames at Goring weighing 6lb 3oz, 6lb 9oz and 7lb 14oz (pictured).
Following an uneventful start to his after-dark session, he switched to a different peg and was quickly into fish, but on hooking the 7lb 14oz chub he was convinced it was a bream.
It was only after he’d lifted the fish on to the bank that he realised he’d obliterated his PB of 6lb 12oz
