REIGNING Drennan Cup holder Simon Daley booked a week off work to target tench, and made the most of his time on the bank by landing three big fish, topped by this fine 11lb specimen... which he caught twice in the same session!

The Hampshire angler kicked things off with a female fish weighing 10lb 14oz, as well as two huge males scaling 9lb 14oz and 9lb 9oz.

A few days later he managed to catch the 10lb 14oz fish again, only this time it had packed on a further 2oz during the time he’d been on the bank.

All his fish fell to worms fished on helicopter feeder set-ups presented on a plateau 50 yards out. Simon had cleaned this spot off at the start of his trip with the aid of a small, castable weed rake.
