CATCHES don’t come more shocking than this 2.5m-long, 222lb catfish that dragged its captor a kilometre downriver!

English angler Ditch Ballard, boss of Ebro Mad Cats, was targeting carp on the ice-cold Spanish river that gave his company its name.

“The bend in my little 10ft rod suggested I was attached to a catfish, and the next hour was simply painful, as my muscles fatigued and my body temperature began to crash,” Ditch revealed.

“I found myself crouched at the bottom of the boat, trying to hold on while shivering uncontrollably.

“It was the biggest battle of my fishing career, and one I wouldn’t wish on anyone!” he joked. Any takers?
