MATCHFISHING legend Tommy Pickering has set his sights firmly on bringing home the title for England at the inaugural Masters Feeder World Championships in September.

The event will take place on the Guadiana River in Spain, where the main target will be carassio and carp, alongside several unusual species such as Comizo barbel and largemouth bass.

Fellow England stalwart Darren Cox, Maver Match This winner Simon Fry, and feeder aces Andrew Moss and Richard Vaughan, will make up the five-man squad.

Tommy, who will captain the side, revealed how proud he is to be representing his country again. “Pulling on that Three Lions jersey means everything to me, and the only thing I’ll be going for is gold,” he said. “My whole year revolves around internationals. I’ll miss a few big matches back home when we’re out there, but to be honest, I don’t care. There’s no greater honour than fishing for England.”
