The River Loddon has a history of big barbel, and Lisa Loveridge proved just why with this incredible 17lb 14oz barbel.
It’s the result of a long campaign for Lisa, who has put in the hours pre-baiting to catch this fish – one she’s been chasing all season.
“The first hour and a half was quiet, with no signs of activity,” Lisa told us,
“so I reset the rods with double 20mm boilie hookbaits and cast them out again.
“Shortly after, the right-hand rod tore off downstream, and I could instantly feel a very good-sized fish. She put up an incredible fight, but after a few lunges, she was mine.”
