After finishing work early, fireplace installer Scott Smith headed down to his local River Thames in search of a chub or two.
While he only caught one fish, it turned out to be a real cracker in the shape of this 8lb beast.
“It’s a new PB and fell to a 15mm boilie fished with a little bag of crushed offerings,” he told us.
“It gave a good scrap, trying to do me in some snags on my left-hand margin, but thankfully I steered it clear. I’d never seen a chub so big!”
