“I’ve been targeting carp lately, but after catching a few big tench on my carp gear, I decided to have a proper go for them instead after finding out the lake held a few big ones.
“I scaled down my tackle and targeted a gravel bar where I fed 0.5kg of hemp, maggots and pellets. Over this, I cast a maggot feeder with a double red maggot and caster hookbait, and before long I connected with a fish that felt like a carp of around 15lb. So, when I saw this tench surface, I was amazed at the size of it. At 10lb 3oz, it’s a proper specimen!”
