DAN Woolcott has continued his great form this season by landing an immaculate 7lb 10oz chub from the River Thames.
Fishing with a Dynamite Baits Halibut boilie wrapped in paste, he cast his rig into a boating channel and, mindful that Thames chub like to feed at night, he didn’t expect any action until darkness.
However, at midday in bright sunshine his rod was away, signalling the start of a great fight during which the fish tried in vain to shed the hook in nearby snags.
Dan used a free-running feeder set-up, an 8lb fluorocarbon hooklink and a size 6 Super Specialist hook.
