Huge perch falls at Cornish venue

After watching big perch striking at the silvers at BK Fisheries in Cornwall, Mathew Price decided he had to try fishing for them, and was rewarded with this huge 5lb specimen.

“I’d been sprinkling a few maggots in and was watching the perch hitting the silvers coming in for the feed," he told us.

“I had to get the rod out, and carefully lowered in a floatfished worm. After missing a few bites, I landed a perch of 2lb 8oz, and having slipped it back I recast.

“I’d fed another pinch of maggots over the top when my float slowly veered off to the right. I struck, and the reel started screaming! I got the fish to my feet, and when I saw it in the water I froze with shock. I shouted to my mate, who ran over, and I’ll never forget his face when this perch surfaced. It weighed in at 5lb exactly and is a new PB.”
