Hampshire big-fish hunter Matt Fernandez saw several bream rolling in a local pit, so after feeding 10 Spombs full of 6mm pellets and 12mm boilies he cast out two rigs with dumbell boilie hookbaits tipped with buoyant corn.
He told Angling Times:
"It was a long sleepless night, full of anticipation, but just as my eyes began to rest, around 5AM my middle rod received a massive drop back!
"My heart began to race and I slowly guided the bream into my net.
"The leviathan spun the needle round to 16lb 12oz - a new personal best!
"Last year I really struggled during the spring and autumn, but this spring I landed a 15lb 8oz and a 13lb 12oz bream.
"Three trips since April for two bream - things are looking up!
"Every bream is hard earned from this challenging big pit, so to say I’m happy is an understatement."
