A SESSION on the River Thames while listening to the football proved eventful for Justin Beale when he landed this immense 18lb 1oz barbel.
After having a few casts during the first half of an England game at the recent European Championships, Justin had just reeled in one of his rods at half-time when the other one burst into life.
Justin revealed how the fish then ‘beat him up’ during the fight, tearing around in an area of well-oxygenated water and testing his tackle to the limit. He fished a legered pellet hookbait over a bed of Bait-Tech Mojo groundbait to tempt the fish.
