There are few things more rewarding in angling than making your own bait and catching fish on it. Doing just this, James Berry headed down to his local river and despite the less than ideal conditions, he managed to fool this cracking chub.
“I caught this nice chub from Oxfordshire’s River Cherwell. At 6lb 6oz, it’s a rare specimen for the river, and from a stretch I’d not fished for years.
“It was also my first chub session of the year, and the fish was the result of my only bite in five hours’ fishing."
