A free fishing programme has returned for 2026, aiming to inspire a new generation of anglers through accessible coaching sessions across the UK.
Run by the Canal and River Trust, the Let’s Fish! initiative offers beginners and returners the chance to learn the basics of angling with guidance from qualified coaches, completely free of charge.
Suitable for anyone over the age of six, the Canal and River Trust-run (CRT) sessions are ideal for those looking to start or rediscover fishing, with youngsters also invited to sign up to the Fishing and Environment Awards Programme, designed to develop their knowledge of angling and the natural world.
“We’ve introduced thousands of young people to fishing, and it’s wonderful to see so many of them develop a lifelong love of the sport,” said the CRT’s John Ellis.
