SINCE winning the Drennan Cup, Hampshire angler Simon Daley has been looking to boost his PB’s with stillwater species and has now landed a PB 11lb 3oz tench.
In recent sessions he’s had three fish over 9lb and seven over 8lb, topped by the 11-pounder.
“It’s some of the best tench fishing I’ve experienced in a while,” he told us.
“It’s been hectic at times – in one 24-hour spell I had 13 fish, five of which I lost in weed. All were caught on simple inline feeder tactics, feeding chopped worm and maggot.
“My hookbait followed suit – worm and fake maggot, fished on the back of a weedbed 60 yards out.”
