Digital-only rod licence will be 'sad to see'

The man who adds the magic to your rod licence, David Miller, has said "he'd be sad to see the end of the illustrated card licence", in reaction to the news that this year's versions may be the last non-digital EA licences.

"It’s great to think that thousands of anglers are carrying around one of your artworks in miniature," he said in a recent interview with Angling Times.

"They’re always well received, and I love hearing anglers’ comments.

"I don’t get paid a penny by the Agency, but almost every original has sold within a month. All with the exception of the bream, which took a bit longer to sell. It still makes me chuckle – what is it with anglers and bream?"
