WITH his usual River Severn out of sorts due to floods, Nick Duffy headed to the Warks Avon in search of zander and banked a fine 15lb 14oz specimen.

It’s his first double-figure example of the species and fell to a roach deadbait presented below a feeder filled with chopped fish.

Nick, who received the all-important run at 2.50am, revealed that the stretch he was targeting didn’t have any real form for producing big zander, and so he only realised the magnitude of his catch when he came to lift the landing net out of the water!
