TRYING out a new hookbait for the first time can take a leap of faith, but if the results are quick to come, all doubts are soon set aside.
That was certainly the case for Essex angler Paul Faint, who banked this 7lb 15oz chub using a new boilie named The Herb that he’s currently trialling.
Fishing the Thames, Paul baited a swim with 12mm baits, then fished a matching boilie on the hook, wrapped in paste. He caught a five-pounder on his first cast, followed by the near-eight-pounder a couple of hours into the session.
