Anglers are being called upon to report sightings of cormorants on their waters to help form an accurate picture of the impact the seabirds are having on inland fish stocks and the wider ecosystem.
The survey is being led by Peterborough & District Angling Association (P&DAA) and Clubmate alongside the Angling Trust and Natural England.
P&DAA chairman Rob Harris said: “We’re aware that cormorant numbers are high and escalating, but it’s only with real data that this can be addressed, not anecdotal social media comments. We ask that anglers embrace this process and report any sightings.”
