After work session brings giant chub

Lea specimen spins scales to exactly 8lb

by Angling Times |

After finishing work, Nathan Buckingham went down to Kings Weir on the River Lea for a few hours, and just five minutes after casting he connected with what felt like a decent fish.

“A good battle on my light rod followed, before I netted this massive chub” said the Ware, Herts angler.

“Tipping the scales round to 8lb exactly, it blew me away!

"Kings Weir is such an exciting place to fish, with so many amazing fish in there. When the tip goes round you never quite know what could be on the end!” said Nathan,

who offered a small chunk of side-hooked luncheon meat.
