THE holy grail for most coarse anglers – a 3lb roach – has been landed by a four-year-old boy.
Fishing an unnamed stillwater with his dad Craig, Thomas Renwick caught the giant 3lb 1oz redfin on breadflake alongside another of 2lb 8oz, while his dad had fish of 2lb 10oz and 2lb 12oz.
After landing such a fish, you’d think that Thomas would have been beside himself, but Craig revealed that there are so many big roach in the water they’re targeting, it wasn’t a shock.
“It’s very rare to catch anything under two-and-a-half pounds from the place we’re fishing,” he told us,
“so to be honest, he’s used to big roach. He thinks fish of this size are the norm!”
