A trip to a tough northern syndicate water proved fruitful for Doncaster angler Pete Webster when he landed this 16lb 6oz bream.

Using a simple helicopter rig with a maggot hookbait, he Spombed out a mixture of pellets, corn, casters, dead maggots and hemp over the top.

The bream is a venue record and it’s believed to be the first capture of this fish, which is a clearly recognisable specimen with a distinctive split tail.

A few stray tench to 7lb 8oz muscled in on the action, as well as four eels to just under 3lb.

The bream is Pete’s new PB, beating his previous best of 15lb 15oz.
