Hampshire rod Matt Fernandez landed this 11lb 1oz tench on his last session of the summer targeting the species.
"I decided to have one last go for the tench before moving on to fish for other species," he told us.
"I pre-baited a few likely areas during the week prior to my trip, and upon arrival at my chosen Southern stillwater, I watched the water to see any 'tenchy' signs.
"I saw some fizzing in both the areas, so I tossed a coin on which swim to head to.
"It was a slow start, but come late morning the bites began and I landed four tench to 11lb 1oz."
Matt fished 12mm glugged Source boilies on heli rigs alongside feeders holding 4mm halibut pellets and groundbait, and lost what he suspected was an even bigger fish later that day.
