JOSEPH Brockhouse, an 11-year-old from Nuneaton, is possibly the youngest angler to have banked a 100lb-plus fish from British waters, after hauling in this immense 126lb sturgeon.
Fishing a private lake in Manchester with his dad, Lee, and younger brother, Alex, Joseph hooked it on a halibut pellet, and it put up one hell of fight on his 3.5lb test curve carp rod.
The trio fished for two days on the lake, owned by his dad’s friend.
“On the first day I had a run from a massive fish, and it gave me an amazing fight, taking 30 minutes to land,” said Joseph.
“Once we got it in, my dad and brother had to help me lift the fish for a photo!
“We had 80 fish between us on that session, and I also had roach and perch to 2lb, as well as five carp over 20lb.”
