Divers have been helping anglers to put more fish on the bank thanks to a groundbreaking free service that’s being offered to clubs.
Mark Barrow and Jodie Calladene launched their free diving service, ‘Beneath British Waters’, over two years ago but since featuring in Angling Times back in April the pair have been inundated with offers from angling clubs who want them to plunge into their waters.
The latest is Bradford No.1 Angling Association, and the Yorkshire-based group invited the pair to dive into their one-acre Kirklees Lagoon. After sharing their knowledge of what they discovered, anglers’ catches at the venue have improved dramatically, according to committee member Alan Gee.
“The lakebed was different to what we thought it was. They also helped to locate the fish,” he said.
“The service is not only good for the anglers but for us as a club as it helps us to monitor the health of a lake. Mark and Jodie will dive two more venues.”
