How would you like to spend this Saturday at one of the country’s top commercial fisheries, receiving free coaching from a host of the sport’s top stars including Andy Findlay, Neil Mckinnon and Scott Geens?
This weekend sees the launch of Fish Camp 2014 – the annual collaboration between tackle giants Preston Innovations/Korum and Improve Your Coarse Fishing Magazine. Over the duration of the summer, some of the biggest names in angling will be attending Fish Camp days at venues as far afield as Partridge Lakes in Cheshire, Lindholme Lakes in Yorkshire, right down to Whiteacres in Cornwall.
At each event, a lake has been reserved especially for Fish Camp, and as well as giving demonstrations, the stars will spend the whole day walking round the lake, helping all those attending to fine tune their skills and catch more fish.
Among the dozens of other big names set to appear over the summer-long Fish Camp series and give free tuition are Tommy Pickering, Lee Kerry, Des Shipp, Adam Wakelin, Emma Pickering, Dai Gribble and Gary Knowles.
For the series curtain raiser at Droitwich, Worcestershire venue Woodlands View this Saturday, Arles Pool has been set aside specifically for our use. The lake holds carp to 20lb, as well as plenty of bream, tench and perch, and you could be there to enjoy the friendly atmosphere and expert tuition. Please note that all winners must be available to attend the fishery at 9am on Saturday, with fishing set to last until around 4.30pm. Under-16s must have a guardian present. You will also need to bring your own tackle, as well as refreshments, although some food will be available on the day.
