The River Yare continued its fine run of form during the latest event on the waterway when the top five shared over 230lb of roach and bream between them.
With conditions perfect for a day’s bagging, the 79 competitors expected a busy session and they got what they wanted, with at least 40lb needed to win every single section.
Top spot on the day was sealed by Eddie Hall who placed 50lb 10oz on to the scales. The Great Yarmouth-based ace used a groundbait feeder with worm hookbait to fool 35 bream and skimmers.
Runner up Tony Anderson was just one fish behind on 49lb 12oz with Phil’s Bait and Tackle rod netting 44lb 15oz for third.
