Carp tackle specialist Nash has launched a new range of budget-priced gear this week.
Known as the H-Gun range, the line-up initially comprises a complete set of luggage, plus bedchairs, rod pods, a shelter and a number of 12ft rods.
These products, which are now filtering into the tackle shops, are a change of focus for Nash and are aimed at the ‘starter carper’ market.
Previously, Nash has been regarded solely as a top-end carp brand and has established an enviable reputation for producing cutting edge, innovative carp tackle, with many of its products selling for hundreds of pounds.
With the new budget-priced H-Gun range only one item is priced above £100, marking a notable change in the direction of the company.
Company boss and legendary carp angler Kevin Nash explained the reasons behind this change: “We are very aware that anglers aspire to own top-end Nash products such as an Indulgence Bedchair, Titan Bivvy or a piece of top-end luggage but for many anglers the simple fact is, they may not be able to afford such products.
“I also think it is crazy for youngsters or adults taking up carp fishing to buy the most expensive gear until they know that carp fishing is for them.
“The H-Gun project has been just as challenging as developing our new Titan Bivvy, but for different reasons. With the low budget pricing, it was a challenge for us to make sure that the kit would be strong and durable while maintaining the Nash reputation of reliability and quality matched with performance.
Prices for the new introductory Nash range start from as little as £14.99 for an unhooking mat and rise to £129.99 for a stylish new Strongbow shelter featuring a quick set-up pramhood design.
The initial response to the new H-Gun range from the retail sector has been encouraging, with tackle shops in the traditionally strong southern carp areas reporting brisk trading.
Without a doubt, the new Nash H-Gun range offers the novice or newcomer to carp angling brand name quality and performance at sensible prices.
