ANGLERS are bagging up on silverfish, chub and barbel on this Lancashire fishery’s newly refurbished River Lake.
One of the smaller waters on the prolific complex, the pool has been totally remodelled, including an increase in the number of pegs to 17 and disabled accessible path, as well as a total re-stock of fish.
More than 4,000lb of roach, along with bream to 7lb, 200 carp to 9lb, dozens of F1s and around 150 chub and barbel averaging 1lb have recently been introduced into the lake to improve sport for those who don’t just want big carp.
Depths on the lake vary, but generally the margins are 3ft-4ft deep, making for easy fishing, and there is a sunken island out in the middle of the lake which can be targeted using the bomb or feeder
Prices: £7 a day for River Lake until March 31, £8.50 thereafter. Prices on the carp lakes vary – see the website or call for details
