It is well documented that tench love fruity flavours and there is no greater additive for targeting them than a good glug of Tutti-Frutti.
On a long, hot summer’s day, we caught up with Peg-One angler Lewis Baldwin (and his faithful angling companion, chocolate-Labrador Smartie) on the banks of the UK’s most prolific tench water, Napton Reservoir.
Well known as a tench bagging water, Napton anglers usually target the fish using waggler tactics, but with conditions being so poor, Lewis was forced to change tact.
Using a Method feeder with a small bright Fish Frenzy hookbait, Lewis set about targeting some of Napton’s ‘red-eyed’ inhabitants, and as well as catching a few, he also demonstrated how to put together the perfect tench Method mix. Creating an easy to replicate tactic, which will work on countless waters around the country.
