In a world where fast, newer and shinier is perceived to be better, there are still a few dyed-in-the-wool anglers who love using old tackle, keeping the past and the history of angling alive.
One such angler is Albert Leonard.
As well as still being a keen angler, after over 50 years, Albert likes nothing more than finding and restoring old rods and reels.
We joined Albert of the banks of Rudyard Lake, in Staffordshire, where he showed us a couple of cane rods – one he had restored and one that he had built from scratch as well as a very unusual reel.
