Luke Edwards is bang in form at The Avenue, landing four fish for an incredible 157lb.
Fresh from having banked a 54-pounder and two thirties in another session at the Shropshire venue last month, the Wolverhampton angler returned to take two forties and two thirties.
He said: “I arrived at The Avenue on Tuesday and the weather was sunny and warm. After a quick walk around I spotted a few fish in an area I hadn't fished all year, known as ‘The Bar’.
“I put out about 20 spods of hemp and maize out and was fishing little chod rigs over the top with Milky Toffee pop-ups soaked in pineapple juice.
“The first bite came bang on noon and I quickly netted a lovely fish known as Dustbin that went 43lb on the nose known. After spodding my bait back out, the same rod was away again about three hours later and I was soon looking down at a fish I had in October called Shark Bite at 44lb 8oz. I was buzzing to land my first brace of forties! I quickly got my rod back out on the spot and had a quick bite resulting in a 34lb mirror. The next day was quiet but I had one more a fish known as Zak at 35lb 8oz.”
Luke fished chod rigs made with 35lb Fox Trans Khaki Rigidity and size 5 SR hooks. He baited up with mixed flavours of Mainline boilies.
