First Brit to land a 100lb Euro carp

The peerless Euro Aqua has produced its second different 100-pounder in a month.
Hampshire rod Steve Weir banked this 104lb mirror at the Hungarian venue last week. The 52-year-old, who was the first Brit to fish the water back in November 2013, told Angling Times: “It’s one of those things you hope is going to happen, but until it does it’s just a dream. I’m gobsmacked.”
Steve has caught a 90-pounder, three eighties and 11 seventies from Euro Aqua before but said: “You cannot describe how big it is. I’ve seen lots of big fish on the bank, but nothing like this.”
This fish arrived on the second day of a week-long trip and took 25 minutes to subdue on just 12lb mainline.
