Chub from River Swale just under 7lb

This 6lb 15oz chub was the highlight of a session-to-remember for Jim Quartermain when he visited a stretch of the River Swale.

It featured in a catch of 10 chub that all fell to maggot hookbaits presented on stickfloat tactics and his biggest fish sets a new personal best.

The Tyne and Wear based 43-year-old, fed his way through two pints of maggots to the keep the bites coming and all of his fish were beaten with 4lb mainline a 3lb hooklink.

“The river was in perfect nick and fining down after it was carrying some extra water, which is the perfect time to have a go on the stickfloat,” said Jim.
