Champs Ridgemere AC through to Supercup semis

The second round of the 2015 Angling Times/Bait-Tech Supercup threw up its usual mix of surprises and memorable wins, but some familiar names made it over tricky obstacles to claim a semi-final place.

Among them were reigning champs Ridgemere AC, who saw off Stewponey AC at Barston Lakes in comfortable fashion.

The 2013 champs DECCA AC had a closer battle with a strong Black Country AC team at Moorlands Farm. Trafford AC are other former winners of the cup and they needed weight to get past Bay Malton AC. Inaugural winners Alliance & Leicester Liverpool booked yet another semi-final appearance after seeing off the Mersey Dockers.

On the shocks front, Elm Park & Hornchurch DAS beat last year’s overall runners-up Bill’s Tackle, while Notts AA Green saw their normally reliable Beeston Canal home venue fail to see them through as Barnstone AC triumphed on the day.
