6lb 12oz Stour chub captured

Ben Hayes proved that the Dorset Stour is the place to be for big chub with the capture of this cracking 6lb 12oz specimen.
In hope of a barbel, the 20-year-old targeted a sunken tree on the far bank with just two hair-rigged Elips pellets. Within minutes the specimen chub had devoured Ben’s hookbait. “At first I thought it was a barbel, the way it was fighting, so I was very shocked to find out it was a big chub” he said.
“This is my best this season, although I have had a 7lb 11oz chub from the Stour on a previous trip.”
