A common of 50lb 1oz has come from a Nene Valley pit.
Mark Everitt caught the fish, known as Tyson, during a three-night session at the tough Northamptonshire water. It is a new lake record and the first time the big common has broken the 50lb barrier.
Mark targeted a spot he had been fishing throughout the winter and baited with 15 spods of mixed-size boilies. The bite came at 5.30am on the second day as a moderate westerly wind blew into the swim.
The Northamptonshire angler used Raw Baits' Nutex boilies and fish a pop-up rig made with E-S-P Strip Teaze and a Korda Wide Gape hook.
