A 72-hour session on Cambridgeshire’s Willow Lake produced this 40lb 4oz mirror and a 24lb 8oz common for Dean Kennedy.
The Nottingham angler travelled to the Fenland Fisheries venue and was in action within a couple of hours of setting up.
The 41-year-old said: “My first fish came after only two hours of fishing and was a common at 24lb 8oz, caught on the new 12mm white Sticky Krill pop-ups.
“My second fish, called All Gold, came around 36 hours later at 40lb 4oz, beating my personal best by 4oz so I was very happy!”
Dean, who fished blowback rigs featuring Korda Kaptor hook and Korda N-Trap material, baited a spot at 90 yards.
He explained: “I fished snowman-style presentations with a 12mm Krill bottom bait and a Krill stick mix made up with 2.5kg of Krill pellets, Krill Liquid and half a kilogram of Krill freebies of mixed sizes.”
