A three year quest to catch a double figure bream came to a triumphant conclusion for Daniel Woolcott when he slipped the net under this 12lb 9oz specimen.
The project surveyor from Bromley, Kent turned his attentions to Tonbridge and District Angling and Fish Preservation’s Barden Lake and baited a clear silty patch at 40yds with a few spodfuls of hemp, maggots, Vitalin, mollasess, sweetcorn and pellets.
He then offered popped-up fake corn hookbaits with a small PVA bag of maggots and micro pellets over the top on 4ins 12lb braided hooklinks and size 10 ESP Raptor hooks.
He said: “I have been fishing some extremely hard low-stock, 100-acre-plus waters for a double figure bream but had no luck. As they are currently shut for the closed I decided to go give Barden a try and had the bigg’un on my fist session.”
